Located on Historic Route 66, Elk City is one of the largest cities in western Oklahoma. It's rich in western history with a laid-back, pleasant small town atmosphere. In the late 1800's, Elk City was in the direct path of the famous cattle drives on the Great Western Cattle Trail. Here's a fun fact -- by the early 1900's, the local townspeople sought to add new industry, so they called the town "Busch" in hopes of luring the Adolphus Busch family to bring a brewery to town. When that didn't materialize, the name was changed to Elk City, in honor of an Indian Chief, Elk River, who once lived in the area.

Our shows are held at the Elk City Convention Center, which offers over 23,000 square feet for showing and grooming, on-site concessions, and 75 RV hookups and ample additional parking.

Elk City has nearly 50 eating establishments to choose from, including several coffee shops that will be sure to help start your day off with the right amount of caffiene. It will list additional info as well as making recommendations. Our downtown area offers lots of unique, locally owned shopping experiences.

Farming and ranching is big in the area, as well as oil. The folks here are friendly and they have been welcoming us into town for the past 20 years. Load up the dogs and head on over!  We think you will enjoy your stay in Elk City! It might be the most fun you've ever had at a dog show!
